Another beautiful Sunday. If you’re looking for something to do today, why not come out and have some family fun at our ‘Sweet Life’ farm? Normally, people come out to relax among on the pleasant rows of saskatoons while they fill their buckets with the flavourful goodness of purple berries. It will be more challenging to find bucketfuls today as the fruit production is significantly lower this year. However, we have found that many of our visitors are still having a great time out here. Some of the activities you are welcome to enjoy are: feeding corn to our chickens, hanging out around our play area, having family picnics, playing corn hole toss, taking a peek into the greenhouses, and visiting our miniature horses. Now we’ve added pony rides to that ($10 per child). You can also purchase fresh-baked goods from the store.
We are hoping to run our machine harvester soon to try and get some pre-picked saskatoons for you. I’ll let you know as soon as that is underway, and you can buy them straight from the machine if you don’t want to take the time to hand pick saskatoons.
The sour cherries are getting close to being ready to pick. Like the honeyberries (haskaps) we had earlier this year, we have a very limited amount since the new ones haven’t started producing, leaving only two rows from which to pick. One day, I hope to be able to offer lots of them for everyone!
Have yourselves a sweet day!
